The Fangchengbao Leopard 8 is built on the 2.0T DMO platform, equipped with the full-featured CloudRide-P system, and comes with Huawei’s Kunlun Intelligent Driving System ADS 3.0. It also becomes the world’s first vehicle to support Huawei’s UWB car key for its new three-foldable smartphone. BYD has released the configuration information and vehicle details of the Fangchengbao Leopard 8.
In terms of exterior design, the Leopard 8 showcases the characteristics of a tough SUV, with a square and upright body shape, strong shoulders, and sturdy black side mirrors that all highlight its off-road positioning.
The sides of the vehicle are equipped with side and rear cameras and electric side steps, while the rear end adopts an externally mounted full-size spare tire and a side-opening tailgate design. The taillight cluster is distinctive, and the rear bumper echoes the design of the front face. The model is available in 6-seat and 7-seat versions to meet the needs of different users.
Previously, Fangchengbao had announced its collaboration with Huawei Kunlun Intelligent Driving, equipping the vehicle with Huawei Kunlun Intelligent Driving ADS 3.0 and supporting Huawei’s UWB car key for its new three-foldable smartphone, making it the world’s first model to adopt this technology.
In terms of interior design, the Fangchengbao Leopard 8 features a “futuristic sci-fi cockpit.” Besides the instrument cluster and central control screen, there is also a small screen for the co-pilot.
In terms of visual experience, the Fangchengbao Leopard 8 utilizes real wood translucent trim panels combined with 128-color plated translucent ambient lighting. For tactile experience, over 90% of the interior is wrapped in leather, complemented by electric side-wing starship seats. For auditory experience, the new vehicle is equipped with a Devialet music cockpit with 18 speakers.
Additionally, the Fangchengbao Leopard 8 also features a “Starship Key” door panel armrest and a “Starship Energy Core” logo at the air vent. The vehicle is also equipped with a “Starship Control Lever” gear shift, with the central console buttons complemented by a liftable armrest.
In terms of performance, the Leopard 8 is built on the 2.0T DMO platform, and its hybrid system offers a maximum power of 550 kW, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 4.8 seconds and a comprehensive driving range of up to 1,200 kilometers. Its performance is comparable to that of a traditional 6.0L fuel engine.
Furthermore, the vehicle is also equipped with the full-featured CloudRide-P intelligent hydraulic body control system, featuring a suspension adjustment stroke of 140mm, capable of adapting to various terrains. It provides three levels of stiffness adjustment and continuous active damping adjustment functions, intelligently anticipating and adjusting damping to suit different road conditions.
